We love to give diverse people the opportunity to get creative and collaborative together, and we’ve discovered that people go mad for den building!

In summer 2014, we hosted the inaugural Leeds Den Building Festival, centred upon two big events at Victoria Gardens on the Headrow and at the Tetley art gallery. The concept was simple: let people loose on a mountain of cardboard, tape and pens, and see what emerges!

The events were really popular with 550+ people joining in and creating: castles, spaceships, a submarine, a campervan, an Egyptian temple, a Hogwarts train, palaces, an American diner, teepees, and more. Click here for photos from the Tetley event.

None of this would have been possible without an amazing team of volunteers and supporters and funders including: Leeds City Council, the Tetley, Playful Leeds, Better Leeds Communities, the Church of England, Community First (City and Hunslet), and lots of businesses. Thank you.

If this captures your imagination, get in touch. We’d love to host more events like this!
