Leeds is excited to have been awarded £2.5m from the National Lottery Climate Action Fund to explore local mobilisation on climate issues, one of only 14 locations nationwide.

Our Future Leeds has brought together a community led partnership of organisations and people across the city to develop and launch a dynamic and diverse programme of activities on a citywide and local community level over the next 5 years.

We are recruiting to two new positions

Development Worker: we are looking for an experienced self-employed community practitioner to support development work in neighbourhoods as part of the project. You will have considerable experience of working to support the development of independent community led action, and a passion for developing climate action. You will be expected to engage with a wide variety of people and organisations, supporting the establishment of a project steering group, a local Climate Action Hub and a local Climate Action Plan It is anticipated that there will be an average of 1.5 days pw over this period at £180 per day, with flexible working required. The programme will continue for 5 years with decreasing number of days pw expected in the following years.

We are also looking for an experienced Project Administrator (0.5) to provide efficient and effective administration, communication and financial information and contribute to the smooth running of the team. You will have a creative and enterprising attitude and an aptitude for team working. This is salaried role at £22,000 pa pro rata (£11,000) with a 4% pension contribution – fixed term until October 2025
