Climate Emergency Community Action Project

A project we are collaborating with other organisations to deliver

Leeds is excited to have been awarded National Lottery Funding to explore local mobilisation on climate issues, one of only 14 locations nationwide. Organisations across the city are working in partnership together to develop and launch a dynamic and diverse programme of activities on a citywide and local community level over the next 5 years.  This includes representatives from the community and voluntary sector, local council and university. Together for Peace is responsible for implementing one of the five strands of the programme, in close partnership with Voluntary Action Leeds, Our Future Leeds, Leeds Tidal and a fifth partner still to be selected. Our role at Together for Peace is to develop and coordinate a network of community hubs and associated action plans through in-depth community engagement. The community hubs will work closely with the central city-centre hub. The overall aim of this work is to create a ‘zero-carbon, nature friendly, socially just Leeds by the 2030s’.
