Guy Wilson

Guy was educated at New College, Oxford and Manchester University. He worked for 30 years at the Royal Armouries, and led the team that established the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds. In 2003 he established a museum and historical consultancy. He’s been interested in peace issues for many years, developed links with Leeds peace groups during the development of the Royal Armouries Museum, introduced the first peace displays into the museum, and – for the Millennium – commissioned Karl Jenkins to compose ‘The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace’ (for which he provided the libretto).

Guy was involved in the first discussions that led to the formation of T4P in 2002, and founded the annual Leeds Peace Poetry Competition. He served as Chairman of the International Committee of Museums and Collections of Arms and Military History (ICOMAM) from 2002-10, and is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries.
