Mahbub Nazir

Mahbub has over ten years’ experience working in depth in his local community, working mostly with young people. His passion and aim is to support others to focus on developing life skills, identifying what they can contribute to society and helping to overcome deprivation. He seeks to unite religious and non-religious communities to encourage a collective effort to overcome the common issues they face together as a wider community, encouraging a greater sense of tolerance and respect for others whilst maintaining one’s own cultural and religious identity. He is Chair of the Association of Leeds Mosques, Vice Chair of Leeds Faiths Forum, co-founder of Inter-Active (a project using sports to bring primarily Muslim and Jewish people together), and runs a not-for-proft ‘Good Deeds: Piece by Peace, Restoring Faith in Humanity’.
